Observatory was fantastic!

I booked the Cocktail Masterclass at The Observatory Cocktail Lounge for a hen party, and it was absolutely brilliant! The whole group had such a blast, and the panoramic views were incredible. The instructor was engaging, and we learned to make some delicious drinks. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fun experience!

Found a great package deal

I was looking for a good deal for a short break and found their 'Sunday Escape' package. It included an overnight stay and breakfast, which worked out much cheaper than booking everything separately. The online booking showed the savings clearly. It was definitely worth the price, especially for a 5-star hotel. I felt like I got a really good value for my money.

Good stay, nice views

Stayed in an Executive Room. Booking was easy. The views from the room were great. Staff were polite. Had breakfast buffet, it was decent. No complaints.

Comfortable room, minor wait

We stayed in a City Suite for two nights. The room was spacious and very comfortable, just as pictured on their site. Booking the 'Stay and Dine' package online was simple enough. The dinner at The Seahorse Restaurant was excellent, really good food. My only minor point was that check-in took a little longer than expected, maybe 15 minutes, but the staff were apologetic and polite about it. Overall, good value for what you get, and a pleasant experience.

Lovely stay, smooth experience

I booked a Luxury Double Room for a weekend break. The online booking process was straightforward on their website; it only took a few minutes. I also made a reservation for the Observatory Afternoon Tea at the same time. Check-in was efficient, and the staff at the front desk were very welcoming. The room itself was immaculate, with nice city views, and the bed was really comfortable. We had afternoon tea, and the quality of the food and service there was exceptional. Everything arrived as described, and the entire experience felt very well-managed. I had a small question about parking upon arrival, and the concierge was helpful with clear directions. No issues at all.

Had a really nice time

Went for the Sunday Roast with some friends, and it was pretty good! Made a reservation online a few days before, and it was easy enough to do. The atmosphere was chill, and the food was tasty, exactly what we wanted for a Sunday afternoon. Service was friendly, too. Would totally go back.

Thinking of booking a luxury double for a weekend getaway. What's the check-in time like? Don't want to show up too early or late.

J Josh 1 month ago
It's usually 3 PM. They're pretty strict about it during busy times, just FYI.

Yeah, pretty standard 3 PM. If you get there earlier you can always ask, sometimes they can get you in but don't count on it. They'll hold your bags though.

Hey, planning a trip from the US and looking at this hotel. Any advice on parking if we rent a car?

B Beth 1 month ago
They have parking, but it's paid. It's underground I think, pretty secure.

Yes, they do have parking. It's a bit of a maze but very convenient. Just be aware it's an extra charge per night. Worth it though, especially in the city centre.

Has anyone used one of those 'Sunday Escape' packages? Wondering if they're actually a good deal or just marketing hype.

B Ben Foster 1 month ago
Oh yeah, totally worth it. Got a good rate on a nice room and breakfast included. Made a Sunday night feel like a proper treat.

I used one for my anniversary last year. It was definitely cheaper than booking everything separately. Plus, sometimes they throw in little extras like a late checkout, which is nice.

Quick question about gift vouchers. My aunt gave me a Hastings Hotels voucher. Can I use it at Grand Central?

R Rachel T. 1 month ago
Yep, any Hastings Hotels voucher works there. They're all part of the same group.

Yeah, I used one last Christmas for afternoon tea. Just tell them when you're booking or checking out that you have a Hastings Hotels voucher. It's usually straightforward.

Is it easy to get to the Observatory lounge? And is there a dress code for that? Don't want to show up in jeans if everyone's super fancy.

M Mark Nguyen 4 weeks ago
Super easy to get to, just take the lift. Dress code is smart casual, no trainers or anything. I saw people in nice jeans and tops, it was fine.

It's on the top floor, great views. For the Observatory, I'd say smart casual is safe. You won't feel out of place in nice trousers or a dress, but no need for a ballgown haha.
